Atomoxetine Decreases Heavy Drinking Episodes in Alcoholic Adults With ADHD: Presented at AACAP

Doctor’s Guide -- NEW YORK -- November 1, 2010 -- Adults diagnosed with both attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and alcohol abuse/dependence experienced the same relapse when they took atomoxetine as those who did not take the drug, although they did show a decrease in heavy drinking episodes, researchers noted here at the 2010 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP).
