TOLEDO, Ohio, Feb. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Manor Care, Inc. today announced three new officers of the company.
Lynn M. Hood has been named vice president, general manager of the newly formed South Division, reporting to Stephen L. Guillard, executive vice president. Ms. Hood has responsibility for the company’s skilled nursing centers in Florida and Georgia. She was previously assistant vice president/general manager of the South-West Division beginning in 2004. Ms. Hood has 27 years experience in the health care field and joined the company in 1991 as administrator of one of the company’s Florida nursing centers after several years in various positions with a nursing center in Connecticut. She advanced to senior administrator in 1994, and in 1995 was named regional director of operations for a group of company nursing centers in Florida, a position she held until being named assistant vice president/general manager. Ms. Hood earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing from the University of Connecticut and also earned a certification in nursing home administration from that university.
David B. Parker has been named vice president, assistant general manager of Manor Care’s Central Division with responsibility for the company’s skilled nursing centers in West Virginia, 24 centers in Ohio and 12 centers in Illinois, reporting to Nancy A. Edwards, vice president, general manager of the Central Division. He previously was assistant vice president/general manager for the Central Division since 2003. Mr. Parker joined the company in 1995 as administrator of one of the company’s nursing centers. He advanced to senior administrator a year later, and in 1997 was named regional director of operations for a group of company nursing centers in Ohio, a position he held until being named assistant vice president/general manager. Prior to joining Manor Care, Mr. Parker worked as an administrator at nursing centers in Louisiana and Florida beginning in 1989. He earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of Arkansas.
Matthew S. Kang has been named treasurer of Manor Care, reporting to Geoffrey G. Meyers, executive vice president and chief financial officer. He formerly was assistant treasurer, director of finance since 2004. As treasurer, Mr. Kang has responsibility for banking and cash management; financing arrangements and capital structure planning; stock option administration; and activities related to the New York Stock Exchange, the company’s stock transfer agent and the debt rating agencies. He joined the company in 2003 as a senior project manager after six years of finance and management consulting experience with Deloitte & Touche, Exelon Corporation and Arthur Andersen. He advanced to the position of assistant treasurer in 2004, a position he held until adding the director of finance title later in 2004. Mr. Kang earned a master of business administration degree from Case Western Reserve University and a bachelor’s degree in history from Kenyon College.
