Boston Medical Center Health System’s EQTY 2026: Forward by Design on October 19–20 in Boston brings together researchers, clinicians, industry leaders, policymakers, community leaders, advocates, and patients to examine how health equity can be designed into the future of health care and medicine.
The two-day conference opens October 19 with the Inclusive Research Symposium, focused on ensuring that advances in cell and gene therapy translate into equitable access and improved outcomes for all communities. The symposium will explore three critical areas: the evolving potential of CAR-T cell therapies and strategies to expand equitable access; sickle cell gene therapies, including the path from scientific breakthrough to affordability, access, and implementation; and translational research for rare diseases, with a focus on patient partnership, inclusive clinical trial design, and moving discoveries into clinical care.
On October 20, the EQTY mainstage will expand the conversation to broader questions of racial health equity, including institutional trust, representation in health care and research, race and disability, maternal health, and the ways geography, policy, and community power shape health outcomes.
