Torchmark Corporation Subsidiary United American Provides Additional Medicare Prescription Drug Program Information

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Torchmark Corporation subsidiary United American provided additional information today regarding its announcement September 7, 2005, that United American has received Medicare Part D Prescription Drug plans approval from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service (CMS), as follows: CMS has not yet extended an approved Part D sponsor’s contract to United American which will grant United American the right to market its Part D prescription drug plans. CMS is expected to grant contracts to approved sponsors later this month.
