ALPHARETTA, Ga., March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Despite a sluggish U.S. economy, Jackson Healthcare Solutions has more than quadrupled annual revenues to reach the $100-million revenue mark within four years of its founding.
Producing 2004 revenue of $100.4 million, this Atlanta-area supplier of physician staffing, anesthesia management and healthcare information technology solutions validated its inclusion in Inc. magazine’s 23rd annual Inc. 500 ranking of the fastest growing U.S. private companies in 2004. Jackson Healthcare Solutions achieved 428% revenue growth between its founding year in 2000 and the year ending December 31, 2004, with four-year average annual revenue growth of 52.7 percent.
“We achieved the $100-million revenue milestone completely organically -- without any acquisitions or investment from outside firms,” Jackson Healthcare Solutions Chief Executive Officer Richard L. Jackson said. “Through the loyalty, creativity and innovation of our associates we have thrived in spite of a difficult economic environment.”
Based on 2003 revenue of $78 million(1), Jackson Healthcare Solutions was the largest Georgia company, and the only Atlanta-based healthcare firm, included on the 2004 Inc. 500.
The company reported $19 million in consolidated revenue and $800K in operating income from physician staffing and healthcare information technology businesses (those now operating as LocumTenens.com and Surgical Information Systems) at the end of 2000. Since then its year-over-year revenue has climbed impressively:
- $33.8 million in 2001, or 78% revenue growth over 2000 - $51.19 million in 2002, or 51% revenue growth over 2001 - $79.85 million(2) in 2003, or 56% revenue growth over 2002 - $100.48 million in 2004, or 26% revenue growth over 2003
“In today’s healthcare market, providing the right people with the right information at the right time is the key to profitability and improving patient care,” Jackson said. “Jackson Healthcare Solutions can support client organizations on those fronts.”
Jackson attributes much of the company’s success to the high-performance culture within Jackson Healthcare Solutions, and to an exceptionally high level of associate satisfaction. A recent independent employee study indicated 96 percent of all associates are “happy to work” at Jackson Healthcare Solutions. “You have to fail once in a while to keep growing,” Jackson said. “We’ve created a fail-safe environment where bright people with integrity, self-motivation and a strong sense of personal accountability can succeed. That continues to help us attract innovators and achievers and keep them here.”
Founded in 2000 by healthcare pioneer Richard L. Jackson, Jackson Healthcare Solutions addresses the two biggest challenges facing healthcare today: Finding the right people and delivering the right information at the right time. The privately held family of companies supplies credentialed clinicians and provides software applications that can help hospitals improve patient safety, operational efficiency and revenue capture. JHS’ six operating entities deliver solutions addressing specific healthcare business needs. With more than 150 associates in Alpharetta, Ga., and 230 nationally, JHS serves more than two million patients in some 1,000 hospitals each year.
