UC Berkeley Extension is the continuing and professional education arm of UC Berkeley and adheres to the high academic standards of a university that is one of the world's leading research institutions. UC Berkeley Extension courses available for academic credit are subject to the same review and approval processes as all UC Berkeley courses. In the areas of bioscience and biotechnology, UC Berkeley Extension offers a wide range of courses and programs covering key topics, including drug discovery and development, business and marketing issues specific to the industry, project management for biopharmaceuticals, and conducting and managing clinical trials.
Biotechnology professionals and those seeking to enter the industry are able to target their educational needs by choosing from one-day and short courses to programs consisting of several integrated courses. Bioscience and biotechnology courses are held primarily at UC Berkeley Extension's downtown San Francisco location, with some available in Berkeley and Redwood City.
