Lilly said the donation of the KwikPens will help expand health care access and improve the quality of care for people with diabetes across the U.S.

The approval was based on two randomized open-label clinical trials that evaluated the combination of empagliflozin, linagliptin and metformin and their individual components in healthy adults.

Eli Lilly’s senior vice president and chief financial officer Josh Smiley announced plans for the company to spend from $1 billion to $5 billion each quarter this year as it plans to bolster its pipeline.
The Indianapolis-based company announced lower-priced versions of Humalog Mix75/25 KwikPen (insulin lispro protamine and insulin lispro injectable suspension 100 units/mL) and Humalog Junior KwikPen (insulin lispro injection 100 units/mL).

Consulting firm EY released its annual report on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) to coincide with the JP Morgan Healthcare conference this week. For 2019, EY indicates there were $357 billion in life science deals, an “all-time record,” surpassing the previous high in 2014.
Not waiting for the start of the annual J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference, Eli Lilly announced it will acquire California-based Dermira, Inc. in an all-cash deal for $1.1 billion.
