Lonza Biologics Inc. in Hopkinton, Massachusetts and Portsmouth, New Hampshire, are part of the Lonza Group headquartered in Basel, Switzerland, a leading participant in the global biotechnology industry since 1980.
Where we are
Hopkinton is a historic town of approximately 15,000 people, located west of Boston. Hopkinton gains widespread media attention each year in April when the internationally famous Boston Marathon is run as the town is at the starting line of this 26-mile run to Boston. With easy access to New England’s many attractions such as Boston city life, Cape Cod, New Hampshire lakes and the beaches of Rhode Island, Hopkinton is a location offering something for everyone. Portsmouth, New Hampshire is located on the seacoast of New Hampshire with easy access to Boston, the White Mountains, Lakes and Maine.
What we do
In our New England Operations, our regulatory-approved sites provide process development, analytical and cGMP manufacturing services for the production of active biopharmaceutical ingredients for clinical trials as well as commercial products. With both Microbial and Mammalian manufacturing capability in New England, we provide a full range of manufacturing capacity from small clinical scale up through 20,000 liter scale for commercial supply. Lonza New England is home to over 1100 of Lonza Group’s 11,000 employees worldwide.
With global operations, Lonza is the world’s leading contract manufacturer of monoclonal antibodies and recombinant proteins and vaccine targets. We undertake highly specialized development and manufacturing services for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries based on more than 20 years of experience in mammalian cell culture and proprietary technology for large-scale manufacture of innovative biopharmaceutical products.
We have contracts with many of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world, and have customers ranging from international pharmaceutical companies and large biotechnology companies to emerging biotechnology companies.
Lonza is able to provide a complete development package, taking a product from vector construction and cell line development through to full-scale manufacture, including a full range of analytical services and regulatory support for clinical trials and in market supply.
