SpineMedica Hires Lew Bennett As CEO

ATLANTA, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- SpineMedica Corp. is proud to announce Mr. Lew Bennett, a medical device industry veteran with over 45 years' experience, will lead the Company as CEO. Steve Gorlin, the current chairman and former CEO, is happy to hand over his title, stating, "Once Lew agreed to come on board, there was no question that we wanted him leading our team." Mr. Gorlin will remain Chairman of the Company's Board.

Lew has held senior executive positions with several companies in the orthopedic and spine businesses including: Executive Vice President, Officer, and Board Member of NuVasive, Inc.; early investor, Executive Vice President, Officer and Director of Sofamor Danek (now a division of Medtronic, Inc.); President, General Medical Division, Smith & Nephew, Inc., and President of Dillion Manufacturing. In addition, he was one of the founders of Howmedica Corporation (now Stryker Howmedica Osteonics). Prior to founding Howmedica, he was Regional Manager for Ethicon Corporation, a division of Johnson & Johnson.
