BioSpace has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Manager to help us attract and develop amazing talent, develop employee engagement initiatives and develop a strong collaborative culture.

This is both a strategic and hands-on role. You will be predominantly responsible for talent acquisition, and refining our hiring and onboarding processes. Additionally, we are looking for an HR Manager who would like to expand the scope of their role to build a strong employer brand, develop culture and improve employee engagement. Our teams and open roles are based mostly in Des Moines though we do recruit and support remote team members. Our preference for this role is to have someone based in Des Moines. We operate on a hybrid basis, working 3 days a week in the office and 2 days a week at home.

In this position you will:

  • Full cycle recruitment and hiring for full-time, part-time & contract positions from sourcing, pre-screening, phone interviews, interview scheduling, hiring and onboarding
  • Optimizing hiring processes to ensure recruitment and hiring processes are pushed through effectively and efficiently
  • Workforce planning and forecasting with leadership team
  • Devising strategies for performance evaluation, staffing, career development, compensation
  • Building an employer brand strategy in partnership with company’s Marketing and leadership team
  • Acting as a brand ambassador to promote our employer brand on social media platforms and public events
  • Championing and driving a culture of high performance, innovation and accountability

Position requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in human resources or recruitment experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • SHRM designations preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and interact with all levels in the organization
  • Strong understanding of the interviewing process, benefits administration and other HR functions
  • Must be detail, solution and process oriented
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to be an independent and creative thinker
  • The ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial atmosphere
