SUMMARY:  Unique laboratory leadership role for Bay Area biotech that develops and provides molecular diagnostics. The company has several products on the market and is preparing for expanding demand due to a recent new-product launch. It seeks a leader with technical and managerial expertise to oversee the lab's operations including supporting its valued team of CLSs in maintaining their high level of performance and collaborative spirit. This directorship role requires a PhD who also carries a required specialty California (CDPH) license.  Will oversee the company's clinical lab and provide guidance, streamlining, and troubleshooting expertise to maintain a smooth running regulatory compliant operation and mutually-supportive work environment.

• PhD with a CLIA-lab appropriate special CDPH license* and a minimum of 5 years of molecular diagnostics lab operations leadership experience. • Lab management experience in day-to-day operations of a busy regulatory compliant molecular diagnostics lab.

• Technical skills and seasoning that includes prior hands-on experience in high-complexity molecular diagnostic testing (i.e., qRT-PCR, NGS, or cfDNA) and up-to-date knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and FDA quality system principles and standards.

• Team leadership expertise applying advanced interpersonal and communication skills to provide guidance, oversight, and troubleshooting support to a skilled team of CLS’s; team leadership experience that includes a successful track record in hiring, training, directing and mentoring to promote a collaborative work culture to motivate high performance lab teams.

• REQUIRED LICENSING includes one the following four California Dept. of Public Health special licenses:

*Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Generalist)

*Clinical Chemist Scientist

*Clinical Microbiologist Scientist or

*Clinical Genetics Molecular Biologist Scientist (CGMBS).
