The Formulations Team at DuPont Industrial Biosciences is looking for an outstanding protein biophysicist or individuals with equivalent capabilities to work in a collaborative environment characterizing macromolecules to support the development of enzyme products. The individual should have strong, in-depth technical expertise with protein biophysical characterization techniques such as but not limited to UV-Vis-, IR- and Fluorescence-Spectroscopy, DLS, SLS, ITC, DSC, DSF, CD, MST, molecular and electrostatic computational modeling. In addition, the candidate should have both fundamental and applied understanding on interactions between biologically active proteins, salts, and low molecular weight compounds such as sugars and polyols, and non-protein macromolecules. The successful candidate will have demonstrated independent and creative research, excellent design of experiments, execution of plans, interpretation of results and troubleshooting of methodologies. In addition, the candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively with the ability to train, mentor and guide scientists in their independent efforts.


• Develop and execute biochemical and biophysical assays to support both liquid and solid formulation development efforts
• Apply computational tools to gain insight on excipient selection
• Support mechanistic understanding of formulated products to help refine formulation space
• Hands-on work in the lab • Excellent analytical and communication skills, and proven ability to function well in a matrix organization pursuing team objectives
• High attention to detail
• Some travel required.

Job Qualifications

Ph.D. in biophysics, biochemistry or closely related field is preferred. M.S. with equivalent experience.
