Position

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual with experience in protein biochemistry, molecular biology, or ligand screening techniques to join our DEL Discovery team into a six-month contract (with an opportunity to renew) at Nurix headquarters in San Francisco, CA. The successful candidate will support DNA-encoded library (DEL) screening efforts for discovery of small molecule binders to relevant protein targets. These duties will include planning, execution, and analysis of DEL screens along with assisting in post-DEL screen sequencing. This individual will work closely with scientists from cross-functional disciplines and present findings to project teams. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, highly organized, highly detail-oriented, and enjoy working in a dynamic team environment.


Required Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field with 0-2 years industry experience.
  • Strong interest in learning the DNA-encoded library screening process.
  • Practical knowledge of biochemistry and protein chemistry assays.
  • General understanding of protein production/expression systems.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication.
  • Experience in presenting data to scientists from both similar and cross-functional disciplines.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Knowledge of PCR amplification assays.
  • Knowledge of DNA sequencing techniques (including but not limited to Sanger and next-generation sequencing).
  • Experience with assay development.
  • Knowledge of chimeric targeting molecules (CTMs) and the ubiquitin proteosome system (UPS).

Pay range in San Francisco, CA
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

Hourly Rate
$25/hr. - $35/hr.
