Here’s What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in the team’s efforts in the evaluation and optimization of Life Edit gene editing systems to identify systems for further therapeutic application and development.
  • Collaboratively develop and evaluate candidate systems through high throughput screening, engineering, directed evolution, and selection assays to discover and identify gene editing systems with desired characteristics.
  • Perform and troubleshoot protocols for the delivery of Life Edit gene editing systems to mammalian cell lines.
  • Manage and maintain cell lines for the team.
  • Analyze experimental data and present scientific results at team research meetings.
  • Follow advancements published in the literature in the fields of gene editing and gene therapy as well as those presented at conferences.

  • Principal Associate Scientist: Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry or a related field with an additional 4+ years of research experience or a master’s degree with 0-1+ years of additional research experience.
  • Significant experience in culturing, transfecting, and assaying mammalian cell lines.
  • Experience with current molecular biology techniques including in vitro transcription and translation, DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, and NGS.
  • Previous research experience with genome editing technologies, nucleases, and/or DNA modifying or binding proteins is a plus.
  • Scientific background in biochemistry is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and analyze experiments independently.
  • Experience with following SOPs, maintaining, and organizing ELN documentation, and abiding by all safety guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
