Responsibilities:


The Principal Scientist, Research leads project-based teams developing therapeutic biologic molecules from conception through pre-clinical in vivo studies.


Job Description:


  • Design and execute experiments involving antibody libraries, peptide engineering, and in vitro /in vivo antibody/antigen characterization
  • Independently analyze scientific results, troubleshoot methods, and conceive creative solutions and workflows to address challenges.
  • Collaborate with, and lead, computational and experimental scientists to support structure- and property-based design of therapeutic proteins and antibodies.
  • Prepare documents and present project updates, results, and strategies to internal teams.
  • Develop research plans and manage multiple workflows and activities.
  • Manage activities at contract research organizations (CROs) and academic collaborators.


Telecommuting up to 1 day a week is an option, as long as the individual resides within commuting distance of Waltham, MA.


Requirements & Qualifications


Education and Experience Requirements:


  • Employer requires a doctorate degree in Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, or closely related field and four (4) years of progressively more responsible work experience as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the field of computational biology and drug discovery.


Skills Requirement:


  • Demonstrated knowledge of Structural biology, Protein structure analysis, and Protein engineering gained through four (4) years of work experience or post-doctoral fellowship.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Rosetta Protein Design Suite gained through four (4) years of work experience or post-doctoral fellowship.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Protein variant library design and screening gained through four (4) years of work experience or post-doctoral fellowship.
  • Demonstrated ability performing analysis of large datasets, including “Next-Generation Sequencing” data gained through four (4) years of work experience or post-doctoral fellowship.
  • Demonstrated ability programming in Python, R, C++, or similar programming language gained through four (4) years of work experience or post-doctoral fellowship

All years of experience may be gained concurrently.
