Job Description

The Investor Relations Manager will play a critical role in supporting Zai Lab’s investor relations strategy and collaborate closely with PR, legal and finance teams. Additionally, the IR Manager will create and manage different investor-related reports and presentations.

  • Support the quarterly earnings process and assist in the preparation of the script, press release, presentation, preparation of Q&A document and collaborating cross functionally with the finance, legal, communications and R&D departments.
  • Assist with review of all financial disclosures to ensure accuracy and consistency in messaging
  • Support the planning, logistics and execution of key investor events such as shareholder meetings, investor days, sell-side events and non-deal roadshows, including preparation of reference materials for executive officers participating in investor meetings and conferences
  • Coordinate conference calls for important investor events, including quarterly earnings calls with analyst and investor calls
  • Develop and maintain robust understanding of business drivers and metrics; identify/track key themes and topics for investor discussion to inform our team and executives on emerging trends
  • Reviewing sell-side analyst models and research reports to analyze forecasts of the company’s performance and share insights to the management team;
  • Assist in conducting competitive and strategic analysis on peers including evaluating quarterly financial results, product development, M& A activity and other relevant information
  • Help cultivate relationships with current and potential investors by contributing to the development and implementation of Zai Lab’s IR plan through a targeted investor outreach and engagement program
  • Maintain investor contact databases and investor relations earnings and marketing calendars

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a relevant field with 5 years of experience in investor relations, equity research, investment banking or investment management; or equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
  • Experience in health care / life sciences industry and building financial models and comparable company analysis

PREFERRED:

  • MBA or other advanced degree from an accredited institution and/or a relevant certification (e.g. CFA, IRC or CPA)
  • Thorough understanding of, and comfort with, financial statements and corporate finance
  • Ability to explain operating results, performance and merits of overall firm valuation and ability to quickly interpret the potential impact of various internal and external events
  • Exceptional skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint with a high attention to detail
  • Strong communications skills and ability to work with senior management on written and slide based content; outstanding time management skills
  • Strong financial acumen - a clear and thorough understanding of the financial modeling techniques used by analysts to project a company’s operating and financial performance and the resulting value for its stock.
  • Knowledgeable of SEC regulations and financial disclosure requirements
  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks with limited supervision

Additional Information

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $135K and $150K/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
