As as Associate Director-Tax Forecasting and Reporting at Lilly, your primary responsibility will be to forecast and report on the company’s global taxes. This includes handling critical aspects such as the tax provision, effective tax rate, tax balance sheet accounts, and tax footnotes for SEC disclosures. Additionally, you will take the lead in managing tax accounting efforts related to special transactions (such as acquisitions and divestitures) and addressing uncertain tax positions in accordance with FIN 48 guidelines. Your expertise will also play a vital role in quarterly and annual US GAAP reporting processes, as well as contribute to Lilly’s internal planning.

  • Prepare and review calculations and disclosures for tax forecasting and reporting processes
  • Work broadly across the tax department, gathering and analyzing federal, foreign, and state tax information used in tax reporting processes
  • Business-partner with non-tax Lilly departments
  • Implement and maintain tools to modernize processes
  • Research tax accounting and other tax technical areas
  • Train and develop other members of the tax department
  • Ensure proper internal controls and compliance procedures are followed

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • CPA or working towards CPA license
  • Minimum 7 years of corporate income tax experience to include experience in a multinational corporation environment or in a public accounting environment working with multinational clients

Additional Skills/Preferences:
  • ASC 740 experience in a multinational company or public accounting firm
  • SEC tax reporting experience
  • Strong Excel expertise or proficiency, including experience with Power Query and / or Power BI
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Tax Provision software experience

Additional Information:
  • Minimal travel
  • Work outside of core hours will be required at peak project times
