Job Title: Senior SPC Engineer I

Location: Lexington, MA (Hybrid)

About the role:

As a Senior SPC Engineer, you will have the chance to contribute to transformative digital initiatives. You will also assume the role of technical system owner for data science and business intelligence platforms, lead CPV program and deliver high-value projects. You will also use big data platforms and advance local data mesh strategies, thereby empowering and enhancing the skillsets of our teams. You will report to Director of Digital & Data Science.

How you will contribute:
  • Responsible for Continuous Process Verification (CPV) activities like meetings, APQR, YBPR and associated statistical analyses.

  • Lead digital transformation projects.

  • Establish relationships with important partners/data science citizens across the organization to ensure data science initiatives align with team goals, value and successful deployment of data products.

  • Contribute to the technical management of GxP and non-GxP systems such as Statistica, Spotfire.

  • Experience with Data analytics, digital dashboards, Statistics, CPV experience.

  • Data stewardship, ensuring data integrity, visibility and usability.

  • Data engineering solutions to automate GxP activities.

  • Help enhance Takeda's digital culture and capabilities, across departments and vertically throughout the organization.

What you bring to Takeda:
  • You will have a BS in mathematics or a scientific discipline with 4+ years of experience, MS with 3+ years or PhD with 2+ years.

  • Experience with entry level programming in several languages (e.g. SQL, R, Python).

  • GxP software validation, Data governance and stewardship, Data mining, machine learning, statistical modeling.

  • Some experience with Large Language Models (LLM) in Pharmaceutical applications.

  • TIBCO Data Science / Statistica, TIBCO Spotfire, Qlik, Tableau, PowerBI, Power Automate, AWS, Big Data platforms.

  • Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, relational and non-relational data bases systems such as SQL, Redshift, PostgreSQL, or Vertica.

Important Considerations:

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:

  • Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet, and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.

  • Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.

  • Work in a cold, wet environment.

  • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.

  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.
