Corporate Audit Senior Manager - Healthcare Compliance Audits


What you will do

Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for leading audits that focus on Healthcare compliance and Privacy in the U.S. In addition, the team also supports Financial and Functional audits.

You will help develop Quality Assurance and Improvement Programs that cover all aspects of internal audit activity and continuously monitors its effectiveness.

To recruit, manage and develop the audit team/direct or indirect reports towards the goal of developing the best team.

As a Corporate Audit Senior Manager you will:

  • Deliver the Annual Audit Plan as approved by the Audit Committee

  • Provide leadership support to the Executive Director/Director Audit, guidance and coaching to Corporate Audit staff in the delivery of the Audit Plan and to achieve audit goals and objectives

  • Assist the Executive Director/Director and staff of Corporate Audit in providing independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to contribute and improve the operations of the Company.

  • Support audit management in the preparation and development of executive presentations

  • Participate in determining whether Corporate Audits process, document management systems, control and governance processes are adequate and functioning in a manner appropriate to a Company of our size and market.

  • Interact with Amgen senior and mid-level management.

  • Use good judgment and initiative in handling business issues of significance to Corporate Audit and the Company.

  • Assist on special projects as needed.

  • Discharge responsibilities in a manner that is consistent with The Institute of Internal Auditors Code of Ethics, International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and Statement of Responsibilities.

  • Travel up to 10% per year


What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:
  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of accounting, finance, business administration or compliance experience; OR

  • Masters degree and 4 years of accounting, finance, business administration or compliance experience; OR

  • Bachelors degree and 6 years of accounting, finance, business administration or compliance experience; OR

  • Associates degree and 10 years of accounting, finance, business administration or compliance experience; OR

  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of accounting, finance, business administration or compliance experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Tenure Pharmaceutical / biotechnology experience.

  • Certification, i.e., Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), or equivalent.

  • External audit (e.g., Big 4), internal audit (e.g., Fortune 500), or healthcare compliance monitoring experience.

  • Experience in auditing controls.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Office of Inspector General (OIG) Compliance Program Guidance for Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) Code, U.S. Federal Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act (FCA), current Corporate Integrity Agreements (CIAs), Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) guidelines, Prescription Drug Marketing Act, FDA commercial guidelines, U.S. data privacy laws and regulations, U.S. Federal and State transparency reporting requirements, and other relevant laws and regulations.

  • Understanding of sales, marketing, product promotion, disease education, value and access, medical affairs, and healthcare compliance.

  • Knowledge and understanding of internal control and risk framework

  • Experienced in performing Third Party audits and due diligence activities

  • Excellent business sense (e.g., knowledge of business drivers, finding solutions and knowledge of accounting, finance and other business areas).

  • Executive presence (both verbal and written)

  • Being able to demonstrate a high level of integrity and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
