As an Intern at Life Edit Therapeutics, you will be part of a highly collaborative team focusing on advancing Life Edit’s RNA-guided editing systems as therapeutics. As part of the Gene Editing group, you will contribute to projects in the early discovery phase to characterize novel gene editing programs targeting diseases. A major goal is to transition these programs from research to preclinical development and eventually clinical advancement. The selected candidate will gain familiarity with various gene editing approaches and the experimental methodologies to evaluate them in vitro.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

Perform routine mammalian cell culture to maintain various cell lines  Assist with the design and execution of experiments to assess new gene editing systems in different cell types, and perform troubleshooting when required  Critically analyze and summarize experimental data, while maintaining meticulous records of experimental methods and protocols  Follow current literature in the field of gene therapy and genome editing

Candidates should be actively pursuing an undergraduate degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular biology, or a related field. Research experience in a cell or molecular biology lab is desired Experience in tissue culture, including maintaining, transfecting, and performing  cell-based assays with mammalian cells (ex: flow-cytometry, cell proliferation and viability assays) is desired, but not required Understanding of molecular biology techniques (e.g. PCR, plasmid cloning, DNA/RNA extraction and purification, NGS library preparation, cDNA synthesis and RT-PCR, western blotting) Exceptional oral and written communication
