Post Doc - Inflammation and T cell biology in Atherosclerosis

What you will do

Lets do this. Lets change the world. During Amgens postdoctoral training program, you will be provided with an enriching environment to inspire innovation that will contribute to the development of human therapeutics.

The Inflammation, Cardiometabolic Disorders, and Center for Research Acceleration and Digital Innovation Departments at Amgen seek a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to conduct a transdisciplinary project and study the fundamental biology of conventional and unconventional T cells in atherosclerosis.

The postdoctoral fellow will be well-positioned to identify and characterize the T cell populations and the disease-associated cell states in human atherosclerotic plaques using state-of-the-art single-cell omics tools. The postdoctoral fellow will also have the opportunity to interrogate the role of specific T-cell subpopulations in the development of atherosclerosis. This position is ideal for those seeking to understand the fundamentals of therapeutic discovery and translational biology while honing their skills as an independent investigator focused on basic science.

The postdoctoral fellow will be encouraged and expected to develop an independent line of research, evaluate and interpret the results of scientific experiments and complex integrated datasets, present at scientific conferences, and publish in leading journals. The successful candidate will operate in a highly collaborative environment, with ample opportunities for cross-departmental interactions at Amgen and the potential to collaborate with leading academic labs to uncover novel biological insights into disease pathology.

The postdoctoral position is for 3 years with the option to extend for an additional year.
