The Role:

This role is an exciting opportunity to be a critical part of the talent engine fueling a high growth organization that has rapidly developed and commercialized Spikevax and, has the potential to launch up to 22 products by 2028.Moderna is looking for an Associate Director, CMC FP&A to further build and support analytics and processes of the organization. The role will report to the SVP Finance CMC & Quality and focus on the establishment of performance management analyses, tools, governance, and broader FP&A transformation with the CMC function.

Heres What Youll Do

  • Establish a comprehensive performance management framework that includes key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and scorecards tailored to the CMC function.

  • Identify, evaluate, and implement advanced analytical tools and systems to enhance financial planning, forecasting, and reporting capabilities within the CMC function.

  • Continuously assess and improve FP&A processes to increase efficiency, reduce cycle times, and enhance the quality of financial analysis within the CMC function.

  • Lead training initiatives and change management activities to promote the adoption of new FP&A tools, practices, and mindsets within the CMC function.

  • Design and deliver insightful financial reports that provide actionable intelligence to support the CMC function's strategic and operational decision-making.

  • Oversee the transformation of budgeting and forecasting practices, incorporating scenario analysis and predictive modeling.

  • Establish a robust FP&A governance structure that ensures compliance with internal policies and external regulations, while also facilitating effective performance management within the CMC function.

  • Partner with the broader finance initiative in developing and rolling out the Return on Investment (ROI) training program for the CMC function, aimed at instilling a strong ROI mindset across teams, enhancing their ability to evaluate and prioritize investments based on potential financial returns and strategic value.

Heres What Youll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

  • 8+ years of experience in related field, including financial planning & analysis, or financial operations roles

  • Bachelors degree required

  • Experience with advanced analytical platforms and visualization tools

Heres What Youll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

  • MBA and/or CPA

  • Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry experience

  • Strong business acumen: proven ability to effectively scrutinize and challenge assumptions and interpret the strategy and priorities of the organization in financial terms

  • Excellent project management / leadership skills with demonstrated track record and ability to engage teams to work together towards common deadlines.

  • Strong presentation skills to deliver succinctly and effectively deliver recommendations to senior leaders, frames complex concepts

  • Prior experience working in a matrixed environment; experience coordinate processes and delivering results through the collaboration of related teams

  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing conditions and different culture

  • Exceptional attitude, attention to detail and ability to motivate teams to do the same

  • Understanding of operational dynamics and the external environment
