OPPORTUNITY 
Mammoth Biosciences is looking for a Pharmacokinetics Assay Development Summer Intern to temporarily join our therapeutics team. This role is designed to give students an opportunity for experiential learning in a fast paced biotech startup environment and aimed to give an overview of therapeutic applications of CRISPR, while allowing the mastery of essential lab techniques and assays. The summer intern will work with our Assay Development team and focus primarily on pharmacokinetics, but have the opportunity to get hands-on experience with a wide range of cell and gene therapy applications. 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Extract RNA from multiple sample types in both manual and automated settings
  • Perform digital PCR to evaluate viral titer, transcription viral titer, and gene expression
  • Develop methods to evaluate the in-house DETECTR® platform against digital PCR
  • Perform western blotting and gain a deeper understanding of protein pharmacokinetics
  • Learn how to plan, execute, and analyze experiments

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in the Life Sciences such as Molecular Biology, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline
  • Able to complete a 10-12 consecutive week internship between May and August 2024

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Basic molecular biology lab techniques like PCR and Western Blotting
  • Basic data analysis and documentation methods like MS Excel, PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and curiosity about drug development in biotech industry
  • Desire to learn and contribute to meaningful projects

HOURLY RATE: $25
