The Business Performance Director Global Supply Chain will act as the Chief of Staff, reporting to the Senior Vice President (SVP) of the Global Supply Chain organization. This Director is responsible for management and on-time execution of SVP related deliverables and supporting the management of the Global Supply Chain leadership as a team.

This highly visible position will be involved in leadership discussions regarding current and future Supply Chain and business challenges, decisions, and pressing topics across the End to End Supply Chain network and Amgen. As a member of the GSC leadership team, this individual will consistently work with executive management across the End to End GSC Network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee Supply Chain business performance with responsibility to design and facilitate processes intended to advance strategy and objectives within Global Supply Chain.

  • Leverage data and analytics to inform business decisions and summarizes information into key findings for senior leadership.

  • Provide leadership to key initiatives and strategic projects across Supply Chain, including proactively identifying and removing roadblocks, driving program management, content creation, and presentation.

  • Drive the evolution of the GSC strategic plan, and timely execution of achievements.

  • Create and lead efficient approach to continuously track GSC Year-Over-Year Productivity projects and communicate their target achievement to aligned collaborators.

  • Responsible for presentation creation from ideation to finalization for relevant GSC SVP deliverables

  • Continuously track and communicate progress and adherence to strategic initiative and goal timelines.

  • Partner with GSC leads to align deliverables, metrics capture, and alignment on value creation.

  • Ensure on time delivery of any SVP action items and commitments and monthly communications/reports

  • Responsible for bi-weekly MLT meetings. This includes coordinating agenda topics, consolidating presentation and pre-read content, distributing pre-reads, facilitating each meeting, and creating/distributing minutes and follow up on action items.

  • Responsible for GSC All-Staff meetings.

  • Partner with GSC HR Business Partner to support staffing/organizational initiatives as deemed necessary, and organizational or workforce strategy related efforts.

  • Partner with GSC Finance lead to educate on and translate functional priorities and business details related to financials. Partner on data and visualization appropriate for audience and oversight of organizational shape and budget.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 4 years of supply chain experience OR

Masters degree and 7 years of supply chain experience OR

Bachelors degree and 9 years of supply chain experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Direct experience partnering with and influencing executive leadership.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and executive presence, including ability to storyline and prepare executive-level presentations and pre-reads

  • Adapting and thriving in a rapidly changing and fast-moving environment

  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to influence different functions and levels of the organization.

  • Independent, motivated and proactive team member with experience in a matrixed, highly fluid environment

  • Ability to foster collaboration, work effectively on cross-functional teams and consistently deliver on-time while serving as a role model for Amgen values and leadership attributes

  • Ability to gather disparate information and develop into executive ready materials

  • Direct experience in a cross-functional business operations or strategic project management role

  • Deep understanding of Supply Chain functions

  • Broad and deep understanding of Operations

  • Highly organized

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with partners and supporting functions (e.g. Human Resources, Finance)

  • Amgen financial foresight and ability to interpret and communicate financial information

  • Models good DAI behaviors and reinforces proper decision making and meeting management according to DAI framework

  • Able to excel in a matrixed organization, and possess critical thinking and sound project management skills
