  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system by Financial Planning -- Lead the LRP process for Global Commercial that ensures an accurate and timely integration of forecasting/sales, pricing, product marketing, market research and senior financial management level inputs to meet overall division/corporate calendar deadlines
  • Provide recommendations to Sr. Management on planning key assumptions and analysis to explain LRP vs. LRP variances as well as business trends. This position will require a large amount of interface across senior management within the group and multiple functions within the Global Commercial to include areas/affiliates
  • Numero Uno – Responsible for the quarterly Numero Uno analysis. Numero Uno is the best recognition for affiliates and areas in Global Commercial and is based on key performance metrics. This position is responsible for obtaining the appropriate data, analyzing the data, putting the data in executive level presentation and reviewing with senior management. This program has significant implications across the global
  • Global Commercial Excellence – Responsible for the financial planning associated with the Global Commercial Excellence organization. This position works cross-functionally with the Global Commercial Excellence organization to develop Plan, LBE, UPD and LRPs. Final deliverables are required to be clear and concise and executive level presentation ready
  • Staff Development - Responsible for delegating to and coaching staff to ensure an optimal level of support for the businesses supported. Additionally, will provide coaching and career development opportunities to sustain a high performing staff
  • Position is responsible for the LRP process for approx. $23Bn in Sales and $16Bn in Division Margin for Global Commercial
  • The position has responsibility for preparing and presenting accurate and complete Planning information to the Executive Staff, Global Commercial and Corporate Planning Groups
  • Additionally, the position will interface with multiple functions within Global Commercial and outside the Business Unit such as Operations, R&D, Corporate Planning and other Corporate Groups. Individual is expected to successfully perform responsibilities with a high degree of self-motivation and autonomy

  • Requires 7-10 years progressive accounting or finance experience
  • Ability and desire to proactively search out and evaluate business problems and opportunities
  • Capability to direct efforts to achieve answers and results
  • Ability to solve business problems through the proactive identification of issues and subsequent collection, analysis and interpretation of related data
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analysis within a broad framework of AbbVie’s financial policies (CFMs), and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Preferred: MBA in Accounting or Finance and/or CPA/CMA
  • Preferred: Multi-division experience and knowledge of the financial planning process
  • Preferred: Solid understanding of automated accounting systems such as TM1, desktop productivity and mainframe accounting applications
