In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our legacy Injectable Finished Products (IFP) facility in Clayton, NC is a 457,000 square foot aseptic "fill and finish" site that is responsible for producing innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments. Lead & manage the contractor & vendor selection process & maintain list of qualified vendors. Ensure the acquisition of high quality goods/services at the best possible prices by negotiating & monitoring contracts with selected suppliers. Manage continuous improvement initiatives that drive efficient & effective sourcing practices that will realize increased investment efficiency of monies spent & ensure fair value & service accountability.

Essential FunctionsEnsure contract coverage for key services & goodsMaintain list of qualified contractorsEnsure storage of contracts in the proper systemsMonitor & track expiration of contractsBenchmark operational costs to industry standards regarding RFQ processCommunicate to Line of Business approved suppliers for key services & goodsConduct spend analysis to support & justify sourcing direction & related activitiesDevelop supplier selection criteria & facilitate Line of Business through sourcing processesManage & monitor organizational compliance with all established supplier agreementsServe as key sourcing liaison with Corporate Sourcing colleagues & manage the tracking/reporting of key departmental metricsEstablish, direct & lead cross-functional teams in various sourcing categories to identify, select, negotiate, establish & source preferred supplier contracts, agreements, leases, supplies & servicesIdentify, pursue, & maximize opportunities for realizing cost saving without sacrificing the quality, service & reliability expected of our suppliersPartner with Line of Business to demonstrate how Purchasing can help support overall business strategiesSupport the novoDSI Supplier Diversity program & promotes the inclusion of diverse suppliers in all sourcing initiativesResolve issues relating to receipts of order discrepancies regarding contractsManage suppliers to achieve planned outcomes based on business needs & drive on-going improvement in supplier performanceRepresent NNPII on global & local project teams for changes that affect business needs relating to sourcing activitiesCoordinate sourcing activities with Denmark for assigned commoditiesDevelop reporting tools & metrics as needed to monitor the contract processDevelop & maintain internal & external stakeholder relationshipsMaintain & develop department procedures according to cGMPsPerform other duties as assigned
Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Ability to do close precision work with their hands. Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting and standing) 50% of the time. May required corrected vision to 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials.
QualificationsBS/BA in business, supply chain or related field required5 years of experience in planning/purchasing or related field preferredStrong Knowledge of Strategic Sourcing Methodologies, Processes & Purchasing practices preferredStrong Negotiation skills preferredExcellent verbal & written communication skills; good presentation skills is a plusComputer skills including experience with Excel & electronic Material management systems preferredFamiliarity with SAP preferredProven process improvement & problem solving skills preferredWilling to learn LEAN & Flow concepts & skills preferredAble to develop & manage action plans to achieve targets mandatory
