Project Outline:
  • The intern will engage in lab (70%) and bioinformatics (30%) work. The intern along with the team will generate NGS data and the candidate is expected to analyze using the available pipeline.

This is a hybrid position i.e., the candidate will participate in lab based activities and will have a choice of work from home for data analysis.

  • Hands-on experience on NGS sample preparation.

  • Use the Use of modern biostatistical tools for analysis of high-throughput molecular data (NGS).

  • Analysis, integration and visualization of NGS data for molecular signatures.

  • Communicating and presenting the work to a diverse audience of biologists and scientists.

  • Mammalian cell-culture.

  • At least 1+ years of experience in NGS library preparation and sequencing.

  • Experience doing the QC of the data generated before the data analysis.

  • Analysis, integration and visualization of high-throughput molecular data (NGS data) for molecular signatures.

  • Work collaboratively with bench scientists, comprehend project objectives, and develop bioinformatics flow solution.

  • Understanding and hands-on experience with data mining, machine learning, and statistical data analysis.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.

  • Understanding of biology and basic cell- and gene- therapy is a plus.

Requirements / Qualifications:
  • Currently authorized to work in the US (United States) without sponsorship. Takeda does not provide sponsorship for internship positions.

  • Available to work full-time (40 hours/week), within the core business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm, for 12 weeks during the summer months.

  • Undergraduate, Graduate, PhD, MD student with completion of a minimum of one year of university studies.

  • Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internshipwith Takeda.

  • Please note that Takeda does not provide intern housing or a housing stipend.

The hourly pay rate range is $20.00 per hour - $46.00 per hour. The final pay rate offered for this internship may consider several factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
