We are looking for a highly-skilled, technical, and experienced Executive Director of Product Management to lead our Commercial digital team at Moderna. In this hands-on leadership role, you will be responsible for driving the strategy, development, and execution of our digital commercial platforms and experiences, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and deliver exceptional user experiences. This is a unique opportunity to build and shape commercial at Moderna. You will flex your dynamic range, push past possible and behave like an owner in this role. Your work will directly contribute to Moderna's mission of having the greatest impact on human life by saving lives through the development of life-saving therapies and vaccines.
This role will be based in our Seattle, WA office and offers flexibility to work anywhere 30% of the time. Candidates must be based in, or willing to relocate to, the greater Seattle area. Given our high level of collaboration and fast pace, this role is not able to be remote.
Here's What Youll Do:
As the Executive Director of Product Management Commercial Digital, your key responsibilities will include:
Strategy and Vision: Define the long-term strategy and vision for our commercial experiences and platforms, aligning with Moderna's mission of saving lives and having the greatest impact on human life. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
Product Roadmap: Develop, communicate, and execute on a clear product roadmap for the teams, prioritizing features and enhancements based on user feedback, business impact, and technical feasibility. Ensure that the platforms support Moderna's life-saving therapies and vaccines effectively.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, design, operations, and business teams to ensure successful execution of the product roadmap. Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and accountability across teams to maximize the impact of our e-commerce platforms.
User Focus: Deeply understand user needs and pain points, leveraging data and insights to drive product decisions. Continuously improve the user experience by identifying and addressing areas of friction and opportunity, ultimately contributing to the mission of saving lives.
Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to the product management team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reliable solutions and platforms. Drive the adoption of best practices, standards, and processes to support Moderna's life-saving initiatives.
Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, business teams, and other product teams. Effectively communicate product plans, progress, and outcomes to gain alignment and support for initiatives that directly impact human life.
Innovation and Experimentation: Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation within the team. Encourage the exploration of new ideas, technologies, and approaches to continuously improve our e-commerce platforms and contribute to Moderna's mission of saving lives.
Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Define and track key performance metrics for the experiences and products. Continuously monitor and optimize platform performance, scalability, and reliability to ensure a seamless user experience that supports Moderna's life-saving efforts.
Strategic Partnerships: Identify and establish strategic partnerships with external vendors, technology providers, and industry experts to enhance our systems and platforms and drive innovation, ultimately contributing to Moderna's mission of having the greatest impact on human life.
Heres What Youll Bring to the Table:
To be considered for this role, you should have the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
15+ years of experience in technical product management, leading large-scale e-commerce platform development.
Strong technical background with a deep understanding of advertising, marketing, web and commerce systems, architecture, and technologies.
Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, high-impact projects on time and within budget.
Experience leading and developing high-performing product management teams. We are a high-feedback organization and we prioritize creating a culture of belonging and high performance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
The following qualifications are preferred for this role:
Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment with a user-centric approach.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Familiarity with cloud computing technologies and modern software development practices.
Passion for e-commerce and a deep understanding of user behavior and market trends in the life science industry.
Ability to work in a flat, matrixed organization where we come together to solve hard problems every day.
Under Washington State law, Moderna is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for the jobs covered by this description. Base compensation for these positions in Washington State range from $209,000 to $376,000. Actual salary determinations will take into account factors such as work location, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge, and demonstrated skills. Compensation decisions are made on the facts and circumstances of each case.
