The Gilead Business Services center in Raleigh's North Hills is home to some of the company's critical shared service teams in North America, including Information Technology, Global Financial Solutions, HR Operations, R&D Data Science and Procurement Services Desk. These functions provide the necessary support to ensure Gilead's business runs effectively and efficiently. The center is a catalyst for standardization of processes, digital transformation and technology optimization.

Position Overview:

The Associate Director within Gilead IT ED&A Commercial Digital Marketing Analytics team is a techno-functional expert responsible for overseeing Digital Marketing data, analytics, and insights while collaborating with Gilead and Kite Commercial Marketing stakeholders. This role necessitates subject matter expertise and deep knowledge in the Digital Marketing domain, with specific focus on data, as well as a strong understanding of designing data and analytics solutions to address unique challenges related to Digital Marketing functionality across various Marketing Channels, Brands, Campaigns, and Publishers. Additionally, this position will offer functional and technical thought leadership in Marketing excellence, playing a key role in defining and advancing the digital marketing and data roadmap while partnering with Business engagement leads in respective areas. In this pivotal capacity, you will serve as a subject matter authority on digital marketing data, concentrating on business engagement, data product strategy and development, and collaboration with delivery, operations, and architecture teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as a key IT liaison for digital and data operations teams and other Marketing business units, building and maintaining relationships, and ensuring that data solutions support their requirements.
  • As Digital Data Subject Matter Expert, collaborate with business stakeholders across Gilead and Kite to understand their data needs and challenges, forging strong partnerships to align data and analytics solutions with business objectives and outcomes. Role extends to leading discussions, workshops, and explorations into data-driven opportunities, providing valuable insights into how data can enhance decision-making and fuel business growth.
  • Primary focus will be to lead and champion data strategies, ensuring efficient use of data assets to drive business outcomes for Gilead and Kite Marketing teams.
  • Driving the development and management of data products. This includes defining data product vision, strategy, and roadmap in consultation with business teams, data vendors and implementation teams, overseeing their development and deployment, and ensuring that they continuously meet business requirements.
  • Partner with delivery teams to ensure successful deployment and integration of data products, providing technical guidance, monitoring performance, and iterating as needed.
  • Provide oversight to data operations, ensuring that data is collected, processed, and managed efficiently and securely. Implement best practices to maintain data integrity and quality while developing and maintaining data pipelines and workflows to ensure data availability and accessibility for analysis.
  • Collaborate with architecture teams in designing and maintaining a robust data architecture that aligns with business requirements. Implement architectural best practices to support data integration and optimization and staying current with emerging data technologies to assess their potential impact on architecture.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive data strategy that supports business goals and objectives. Provide recommendations on data-related innovations and improvements, ensuring that data remains a strategic asset for driving Business outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain data quality standards and measures. Implement processes to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and compliance with relevant regulations, and develop and enforce data governance policies to ensure data quality and security.
  • Ensure data privacy and security standards are met and continuously upheld, aligning practices with relevant regulations and best practices.


Required Qualifications:
  • BA/BS Degree (4-year) in Marketing, Mathematics, Economics, Business, Computer Science or relevant coursework
  • 7+ years of project implementation experience and knowledge of owning techno-functional deliverables in a project, including functional design and QA
  • 10-12 years' of solid Digital Marketing experience in data and analytics space
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing principles, strategies, and tactics is essential. Working Knowledge of online advertising, social media marketing, content marketing, web and email marketing, SEO, SEM, and other digital marketing channels.
  • Proficiency in data analytics is crucial. This includes knowledge of data analysis tools and platforms like Google Analytics, AWS Platform, and other data visualization tools like Tableau, ThoughSpot or Amazon QuickSight. Understanding of statistical analysis and data modeling can also be important.
  • Expertise in data collection, storage, and management is crucial. This includes knowledge of data warehouses, data lakes, and data governance.
  • Familiarity with programming languages like Python, SQL, or other data manipulation tools can be beneficial for working with digital marketing data.
  • Familiarity with marketing technology stack, such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, marketing automation platforms, and advertising tools is preferable.
  • Understanding data privacy regulations and compliance, such as GDPR or CCPA, is important, especially when dealing with customer data.
  • Excellent Communication and Collaboration skills
  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills with can do attitude.
  • Willingness to stay updated with the latest trends, tools, and techniques is essential.

Gilead and Kite Careers

The salary range for this position is: $168,980.00 - $218,680.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
