Coverage & Pricing Strategy Senior Manager, Nephrology Lead (US Remote)

In this vital role the Senior Manager, Coverage & Pricing is a key member of the U.S. Value & Access organization responsible for developing and executing the pricing and contracting strategies to achieve and maintain provider and payer coverage goals. This individual will engage with subject matter experts and business unit leadership while leading quantitative and qualitative pricing/contracting analyses to support the cross-segment provider and payor coverage strategy across Amgens ESA and calcimimetic portfolios. In this role, the Senior Manager will also be responsible for working with policy, government pricing, and finance teams to lead the latest estimated discount rate (LEDR) process and long-range scenarios planning as well as ad hoc modeling of policy, reimbursement and contracting scenario impact on provider dynamics and sales volume goals.
The Senior Manager will gather analyze and synthesize cross-functional information across a variety of sources and cross-functional partners to support scenario-planning and customer insight and C&P resource development. In this dynamic and fast-paced environment, the candidate will support for our Nephrology and Oncology Key Accounts sales teams with reimbursement, cost, and policy related resources and messaging that they can use with their prioritized providers and HCPs. This role interacts cross functionally with Value and Access Insights, Value Marketing, Patient Access, Brand Marketing, Nephrology Sales, Oncology Sales, Government Affairs, Trade & Distribution, Business Unit Leadership, Finance, Accounting, Legal and Regulatory. The Senior Manager will also work with our field-based team to engage key dialysis provider stakeholders and Nephrology organizations and societies in order to address policy and reimbursement dynamics in order to gain and retain access that aligns with each brands goals.
This role develops understanding of complex pricing and reimbursement dynamics in the US market to set up for future commercial leadership opportunities. Amgen has strong training, education, and mentoring programs to ensure staff are successful.

Basic Qualifications:Doctorate degree and 2 years of experience in either sales, marketing, contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, analytics, healthcare, or sales operation
OrMasters degree and 4 years of experience in either sales, marketing, contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, analytics, healthcare, or sales operations
OrBachelors degree and 6 years of experience in either sales, marketing, contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, analytics, healthcare, or sales operations
OrAssociates degree and 10 years of experience in either sales, marketing, contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, analytics, healthcare, or sales operations
OrHigh school diploma / GED and 12 years of experience in either sales, marketing, contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, analytics, healthcare, or sales operations
Preferred Qualifications:Strong eye for business, analytical skills, and critical thinking ability
Excellent conceptual problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems, pragmatically scope problem solving approach, and manage execution.
Experience navigating the evolving U.S. healthcare system with specific interest on the interactions between Government and Healthcare.
Solid understanding of US health care system and key partners (with an interest in formulary decision makers within the dialysis, oncology, hospital, or medical benefit space)
Marketing or sales experience, specifically in Nephrology, Oncology or other medical benefit
Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to influence a variety of cross-functional members and styles
Command of complexity and ambiguity; ability to see the big picture; ability to collect, digest and assemble information to enable relevant business analyses
Previous experience or skill sets in building financial models and/or working with/analyzing data from different sources
Nephrology, hospital, or buy-in-bill account management or sales experience
MBA or other masters degree
Exceptional written/oral communication skills and executive presence across functions and across different levels of leadership
Project management and vendor/agency management skills
Ability to work through others and manage in a matrix environment
Prior experience in contracts and pricing, direct payor experience or value marketing and have a good foundational understanding of the US payor environment.

The annual base salary range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $140,029 - $175,803.
