Lets do this! Lets change the world. In this vital role Amgen is searching for a savvy Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) for its US Commercial Business organization within Global Commercial Operations.

Amgens US Commercial Business delivers ~$18B in annual revenues and is in the midst of new product launches in an increasingly competitive environment. This HRBP will be the strategic HR partner to the General Medicine Business Unit (GMBU) and Field Excellence Business Unit (FE) organizations, alongside the Lead HRBP. The GMBU and FE consists of ~1300 staff in Thousand Oaks as well as in the Field. This position will report to the Director HR, who oversees the strategic partnership with these two business groups within the USBO HR team. This role provides the opportunity to develop solutions to a variety of complex HR challenges in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This HRBP will use well-developed HR consulting skills to help their business clients achieve key business objectives and increase the effectiveness of their organization. They will coach clients on a variety of HR and business-related issues to effect change in the organization.

Additional responsibilities include leading, in partnership with the relevant HR centers of expertise; leadership development, talent management, compensation strategies, engagement and retention, culture, and ongoing organizational design/workforce strategy initiatives. In addition to developing and retaining top internal talent, the HRBP also will play a meaningful role in partnering with

Amgens talent acquisition organization to identify and attract top external talent to key leadership and staff roles and will help to organize, facilitate and manage the pull through with our clients for our year-end performance and compensation cycle activities.

There is a strong preference for this position to be based in the local area with access to client groups at Amgens corporate headquarters in Thousand Oaks, CA, however it is open to remote with ability to travel as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree & 2 years Human Resources experience

OR

Masters degree & 4 years of Human Resources experience

OR

Bachelors degree & 6 years of Human Resources experience

OR

Associates degree & 10 years of Human Resources experience

OR

High school diploma / GED & 12 years of Human Resources experience

Preferred Qualifications:

    • MBA or Master's degree with emphasis in such areas as organizational development, management, human resources, employee/labor relations, or equivalent.

    • 8+ years of progressively complex/strategic HR experience, including organization effectiveness, staff relations, compensation, talent development, and recruitment.

    • Demonstrated ability to understand business needs and develop strategic and practical solutions to tangible business challenges, sound knowledge of applicable employment laws, regulations, and business practices related to the field of Human Resources.

    • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities, adapt to ever changing demands, and possess an intellectual curiosity, desire and ability to understand the business.

    • Strong analytical, problem solving, consulting, and project management skills.

    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence all levels of management, and executives.

    • Demonstrated ability to partner well with other HR and business functions.

    The annual base salary range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $120,167 $144,381.
