The Data Scientist, Maintenance & Reliability is responsible for establishing and implementing a data governance and strategy for gathering and managing the information required to provide proactive data analytics specific to industrial equipment and system performance. You will develop tools to extract actionable information from the Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo) and provide dashboards with which to present information to the Site Engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops systems to monitor and report on industrial equipment and system performance.

  • Develop and implement a data governance strategy for site engineering to better enable access to equipment and system performance data.

  • Develop and implement systems to extract actionable information from the maintenance data stored within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo).

  • Develop and evaluate state of the art machine learning algorithms to be applied to industrial equipment and systems.

  • Develop workflows using reliability modeling to gain insights and predictions around asset reliability from raw maintenance data.

  • Develop methodologies, reports, and dashboards that provide business insights into leading performance indicators and make recommendations to improve operational performance.

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Automation, Reliability, and IT to establish performance indicators and dashboards for reporting data to leadership teams.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field OR an BS degree in a quantitative field with significant practical experience as a Data Scientist.

  • Experience developing machine learning methods for industrial equipment and systems.

  • Experience with advanced analytics techniques and methodologies such as predictive modeling, statistical analysis, statistical tests,

  • Experience using statistical computer languages and BI tools such as Python, SQL, Tableau.

  • Experience working with deep learning libraries.

  • Experience with process automation and quality assurance.

  • Experience with data science as it applies to maintenance, engineering and/or reliability.

  • Experience working within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent presentation skills.
