Job Details
The Maintenance Plumber/Pipefitter Technician will inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain piping and plumbing related equipment systems, including sinks, toilets, drains, backflows, fire system maintenance, etc. The technician will work Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Responsibilities
§ Perform maintenance and repair work in an industrial/commercial setting, including new construction plumbing installation and sprinkler and backflow inspection. In addition, testing, inspecting, and replacing piping and pressure relief devices on production and facility equipment.
§ Communicate with customers to identify maintenance problems and evaluate the extent of damage/malfunction.
§ Troubleshoot and repair plumbing issues quickly to maintain company time schedules and ensure functionality of equipment.
§ Provide training to less experienced technicians to ensure efficient and cost-effective work.
§ Follow good manufacturing practices and safe work policies and procedures, adhering to proper compliance, GxP standards and established company policies.
§ Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
§ High School Diploma or GED is required.
§ Must have an Illinois State Plumber's license and a minimum of 5 years of plumbing experience, preferably in an industrial/commercial setting.
§ Illinois Backflow tester certified preferred
§ Excellent verbal communication and demonstrated high quality customer service skills.
§ Highly self-motivated and capable of working well within a team-oriented environment.
§ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change in a positive manner.
§ Attention to detail to ensure tasks are completed in an exemplary manner and potential hazards are not overlooked.
§ Must be willing to work occasional weekends and some overtime as needed.
