Job DescriptionAbout the role:Takeda's Los Angeles site processes donated plasma into many life-altering therapies that help patients live better lives.
Takeda's Los Angeles site is taking advantage of some important opportunities to better serve patients by growing our operations. You have over ten years' experience optimizing manufacturing value streams and have the gravitas to gain the respect of our people. You are influential, able to build robust, honest relationships with people, respectfully challenge and get people to change how they do things. You relish coaching people in
the tools and techniques to analyze and improve operations
and in leading with people at the center.
You will be an important member of the Business Excellence leadership team, partnering with its PMO, L&D and Digital & Data teams to lead the site through necessary transformations. You will lead and coach a small team of bright, energetic people whose capabilities you'll develop to benefit them through the rest of their careers.
How you will contribute:Optimize the site's value streams, aligned with the site's important few priorities to deliver on our breakthrough objectives
Develop systems to measure operational performance, make opportunities visible, focus on the most important and drive business impacting outcomes.
Lead key projects that transform the way we operate
Coach, guide and educate operations leaders in industrial/manufacturing engineering tools and techniques, building on Takeda's lean management system
Develop your team into operations leaders of tomorrow
Lead and manage the site's root-cause problem solving training and qualification program
Collaborate with your peers across the Plasma Operating Unit and the broader Takeda organization
Contribute to the site's strategy deployment process
Proven record of delivering business-impacting results
Demonstrated understanding of complex manufacturing systems, improving capacity and yield
Solid understanding and demonstrated application of lean to deliver tangible outcomes
Clear structured-, logical-, analytical- and critical-thinking.
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills.
Typically requires bachelor's degree, preferably in science, engineering, or other related technical field.
8+ years of related experience with 3+ years of management experience for supervisory roles.
Strong preference for qualifications and experience in industrial engineering or manufacturing engineering
Experience as a value stream leader a distinct advantage
Experience training and coaching industrial engineering, operational excellence and/or lean an advantage
Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or FDA regulated operations an advantage
Experience in process industry an advantage
Experience and qualifications in lean and six sigma an advantage
Travel less than 10%

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:
Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
Work in a cold, wet environment.
Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.
Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.
