Join us as the Global Associate New Product Lead, GI New Products. This is an Associate Director level in our Cambridge, MA office working on the Global Product & Launch Strategy (GPLS) team.
Global Product & Launch Strategy (GPLS) is Takeda's global commercial strategy organization focused on fueling Takeda's growth by leading global product strategy and lifecycle management for our inline growth portfolio and driving commercialization strategy and launch preparation for development programs in our innovative, highly differentiated product pipeline.
Within GPLS, the GI Product & Launch Strategy Unit (GI PLSU) is responsible for driving successful product strategies for pipeline programs and recently launched, high growth products, in close collaboration with the GI Therapeutic Area Unit in R&D (GI TAU). The GI PLSU is currently focused on driving the sustained growth of ENTYVIO and ALOFISEL, while supporting a strong GI pipeline including 10+ programs in clinical development. The Global Associate New Product Lead will work closely with the Head of New Products GI to provide commercial direction on multiple development programs within the GI Clinical pipeline with particular emphasis on the GI Motility Franchise.
How you will contribute:50% Identify key strategic questions, access and assess relevant data or market research, develop and evaluate options, and incorporate implications for the asset / development strategy
Actively partner with the Head of New Products and the Global Program Team (GPT) in providing early commercial planning and execution for the GI Motility Franchise
Build target product profiles (TPPs) and target product claims (TPCs) for early and mid-stage programs, based on thorough understanding of market dynamics and potential future trends
Identify insights needs and ensure the required payer, provider and patient insights are leveraged to inform clinical development programs and business development decisions; Translate key insights into actionable strategies
Translate key insights from scientific experts (internal R&D colleagues + external opinion leaders) into clear, actionable product strategies
Develop and communicate strong understanding of treatment protocols, level of unmet needs, potential patient segments, and competitive pipeline to identify targeted product concepts and necessary product profiles
Work with medical affairs, market access, health economics and outcomes research teams to enable the development robust payer and health system value propositions
30% Drive specific projects / workstreams as part of the pre-commercialization planning or early market building efforts.
Proactively partner with relevant cross functional stakeholders across Takeda divisions (including Global Medical, Market Access, Insights, Clinical Sciences, Patient Advocacy, Manufacturing, and others) to support key decision criteria for commercial success
Identify and drive select commercial workstreams and projects in support of the overall commercial strategy in order to inform clinical development and commercialization plans
Work closely with regions and key LOCs to ensure the regional/country voice and feedback is integrated into commercial planning
Be responsible for building and aligning the matrixed organization on the early Global Brand Plan, partnering with global and regional partners to identify and manage to gaps /opportunities
20% Support internal governance / business planning, communication, ,investor relations, deliverables (e.g. periodic IR events, annual brand plan, Portfolio Prioritization, Commercialization and Launch Committee meetings, Mid-range Plan / MRP budgets)
Provide guidance and assessments of external opportunities
Bachelor's degree required; MBA or science-related graduate degree preferred
5+ years of pharmaceutical / biotech, new product planning, commercial marketing / sales and / or market insights experience that clearly demonstrates strategic thinking and deep analytics
Must be a strong communicator, able to confidently present findings to top level executives as well as able to represent the commercial perspective to senior members of different internal Takeda functions
Global or Regional/Country marketing experience, focus on product strategy, market development, and launch preparation
Ability to understand Global market trends, financial data, customer needs and assess competitive intelligence data
Ability to engage with science and manufacturing topics as they relate to overall product strategy with the capacity to lead / influence in cross-functional team settings
Experience in GI diseases, including motility disorders is highly desired, but not required
Additional desired experience: market access and pricing, brand planning, KOL engagement, strategy consulting, market research (insights generation), and / or investment banking
Potential for domestic and international travel, up to 20%
