Identify and implement projects that promote capabilities, cycle time reduction, efficiency and/or cost savings.

 

Within HR, the Associate Director, Process Optimization is the business lead for key strategic projects; this role leads diverse, cross-functional teams of experts without direct authority. The role has accountability to work across functional and geographic boundaries and lead professionals, both internal and external to AbbVie, of multifaceted experience levels and from diverse technical backgrounds to deliver business solutions to complex problems. The solutions defined will be translated to business process updates, technical process and system design, and roles and responsibilities of individuals in the Organization. Develop and implement use of effective tools and methodologies for evaluating, executing, managing, and closing out projects across the network.

 

The Associate Director, Process Optimization since in the Total Rewards and HR Operations organization and reports to Director – HRConnect Transformation & Integration. This is a new position that is currently being staffed so the Associate Director – HRConnect Process Optimization will report to the Vice President, HR Operations in the interim.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Partners with functional leadership teams to map processes, both from people as well as technical standpoint.
  • Identifies process gaps and improvement opportunities; expertly manages partner expectations and scope of projects.
  • Establishes measures to track efficiencies and/or savings for identified projects.
  • Manages and coaches Implementation Teams; drives completion of projects to achieve outcomes short and long term.
  • Links strategic objectives to the work; guides the team to develop solutions that build future capabilities.
  • Aligns with cross functional partners early in the process to anticipate changes, effectively communicate and lead change management.
  • Develop and provide forum for internal and external benchmarking and sharing of best practices in for process improvements.
  • Synthesize experiences and approaches from multiple disciplines and functions to discover the best problem solutions in total business context.
  • Applies Technology in innovative ways to anticipate or address customer needs. Employs innovative solutions to increase effectiveness.
  • Evaluates strategic risks of business alternatives, recommends actions and develops strategies to cope with various scenarios.

  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years of business experience with 3+ years previous process mapping / project management / change management experience
  • Experience applying continuous improvement efforts within a highly matrixed, multinational organization.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to drive high impact results.
  • A highly motivated process thinker that drives customer focused solutions.
  • Demonstrated track record with expertise leading major projects, business processes re-engineering, and organization design (change management).
  • Senior partner management: effective in influencing senior leaders and strategic action
  • Leads effectively through ambiguity; builds structure and alignment with limited direction
  • Excellent interpersonal and group facilitation skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and design thinking.
  • Advanced Excel, Power Point, and Microsoft Visio.
