Building Operations Technician II - 2nd Shift

Job Description

We are looking for someone to be responsible for conducting building inspections, general equipment inspections, general repairs with a focus on preventative maintenance of the facility and lab equipment. You would provide general assistance and support services as needed. Monitoring and replacing cryogenic and noble gases as needed. Provides escort for contractors within restricted areas.

A typical day might include:

• Performs daily inspections and maintenance on lab equipment and animal facilities and documents all discrepancies using the IWMS system
• Assists with equipment repairs and Maintenance
• Applies various building systems to monitor equipment performance and or provide alarm response for systems such as but not limited to: REES, BMS, and Pulse
• Perform daily building Cryo and Noble gas tank inspections and replace as necessary
• Provide training to contractors for Glasswasher responsibilities as required
• Provide escort for contingent workers as needed
• Performs duties in accordance with AAALAC and IACUC standards
• Works in accordance with all applicable SOPs
• Performs facilities work requests using computerized IWMS and accurately documents actions
• Operate company vehicles

This role might be for you if you have:

• Good customer service skills
• Basic mechanical and technical proficiency
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
• Experience in performing facilities work requests using computerized IWMS and documents work product
• Skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications (word, excel, outlook, power point), SharePoint, etc.
• Valid drivers license recognized by New York State

Education and experience

• High School or GED Diploma
• Trade School preferred
• Associated degree in technical discipline or a minimum of 1-2 years' experience in repairing electro/mechanical equipment a plus
