What Are We Doing?

Sr. Application Engineer, Enterprise Services & Application Integration, IT will be the primary IT application engineer supporting BlueRock’s expanding organization. In conjunction with the product architects, data architect , infrastructure engineers and IT business partners, the candidate will execute and deliver on the solutions product roadmap, supporting key organizational stakeholders, including G&A, R&D, and TechOps in delivering innovative IT solutions and application integration services, the candidate will have a solid understanding of enterprise application’s API capabilities, data architecture and data governance, being able to balance trade-offs in user requirements/experience and the technical implementation/solution.  
This position will be responsible for building, deploying, managing and continuous improvement of application integrations and data management processes (ETL, data aggregation and analytics etc.), and the primary owner in supporting BlueRock’s enterprise integration platform – Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), will participate in lab instrument/data management, lab process automation and Integration; will work collaboratively with teams of internal and external resources across system engineering, dev/ops, business systems analysis, program and project leads and lab IT on solution discovery, delivery, and on-going development (continuous improvement) and operational support.  Responsibilities:
  • Work with Product Architect and Data Architect to execute a shared vision and strategy for delivering innovative and efficient enterprise technology solutions and services.  
  • Design, implement, and maintain the enterprise solutions integration, including but not limited to Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN), Laboratory Information Systems (LIMS), Lab Execution Systems (LES) and Scientific Data Management Systems (SDMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Human Resource Information System (HRIS).
  • Collaborate with teams of internal and external technical resources across Dev/Ops, systems engineering, business analysis, project management and Lab IT/Application support. 
  • Participate in creation projects and operational support documentation, which may include business requirement documents, process and data flow diagrams, solution design specifications, implementation plans and testing scripts, and reporting of results. 
  • Manage the central administration and management of IT application and database service delivery and support, including system monitoring, ensuring data integrity and security in accordance with BlueRock’s security policies and compliance requirements and regulations. 
  • Adhere to BlueRock’s IT architectural principles and standards across the enterprise, implements technology solutions for all facets of Research, Scientific Computing & Laboratory Operations.  
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills; Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities with demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.  
  • Ability to work independently and exercise judgment with excellent attention to detail.  
  • Minimum Requirements:
  • BS/BA in information technology or relevant field, with 5+ years of IT and/or business experience. 
  • Strong expertise in real time and batch application integration via API, and third-party ETL tools 
  • Experience in Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), Business Intelligence Publisher (BIP), knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure 
  • Experience in designing and implementation solution that leverage public cloud services, including Amazon web services (AWS) and Azure.   
  • Experience working with life sciences stakeholders to align business needs and translate them into actionable technological design requirements. 
  • Experience working with lab note booking, inventory management, and data management solutions a strong plus (e.g., LIMS, ELN, SDMS, etc.) 
  • Experience in an IT consulting, business relationship management, solution architecture and delivery, interfacing with leadership/business teams providing guidance and or advisory services in the areas of systems and solution identification, selection, implementation best practices and overall system life cycle management. 
  • Proven experience leading application life cycle management best practices, ensuring regulatory compliance; support system validation/testing (GxP, SOX, Privacy, etc.). 
  • Hands-on experience with programming tools and querying languages (e.g., Python, Java, Typescript, SQL, etc.) 
  • Demonstrated experience with DevOps, GitHub
