Job Details
We are seeking a Senior Medical Director, Clinical Sciences to join our Immunology & Inflammation team. The Senior Medical Director, will support conduct of clinical studies, primarily within Allergy, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Immunology, Pulmonology, and/or Respiratory and will play a key leadership role. The Senior Medical Director serves as the Scientific and Medical Lead for clinical teams working closely with the Therapeutic Area Project Manager and Clinical Trial Managers for each indication/study, and with Clinical Program Managers who serve as operational leads for overall programs within the Immunology and Inflammation Therapeutic Area. They will provide strategic scientific and clinical foresight, insight, and oversight for therapeutic candidates about to enter and already in clinical experiments. They will also work effectively with regulatory agencies both in the U.S. and internationally.
As a Senior Medical Director, a typical day may include the following:
Develops clinical study concepts based on thorough scientific review and consultation with internal and external experts as well as senior Regeneron scientists and business specialists
Contributes to and supervises production of medical and scientific portions of clinical research protocols derived from clinical study concept
Acts as medical safety monitor for studies
Coordinates and participates in clinical advisory boards, steering committees and data monitoring committees as required
Acts as primary developer of clinical/scientific content for submissions to regulatory agencies and IRBs/ethics boards; Participates in the review and interpretation of study data to support valid scientific conclusions
Applies complete functional knowledge and awareness of company goals and objectives in the planning and execution of clinical trials and in the interpretation of study results
Directly develops or guides development of scientific/medical portions of clinical study reports and safety reports to assure production of high quality documents
Participates in production of high quality publications
This role may be for you if you have the following:
An MD or MD/PhD with 4+ years clinical experience, Board Certification or Eligibility in a relevant area strongly preferred (Allergy, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Immunology, Pulmonology, Respiratory); Experience in industry is required
Experience developing clinical study concepts leading to final study protocols, with a view toward producing an integrated, harmonized, strategic set of trials to support regulatory approval
The desire to make a broader impact on developing medicines for patients with serious diseases
The ability to be on-site in Tarrytown three or more days a week
