The Gilead Business Services center in Raleigh's Research Triangle region will be home to some of the company's critical shared service teams in North America, including Information Technology, Global Financial Solutions, HR Operations and Procurement Services Desk. These functions provide the necessary support to ensure Gilead's business runs effectively and efficiently. The center will also be a catalyst for standardization of processes, digital transformation and technology optimization.

Job Description

The BI & Analytics Platform Architect will be responsible for managing our BI/Analytics Platform Support, Sustainment and Operations activities.

Essential Duties and Job Functions

• Drive Vision, Strategy & Architecture for portfolio of BI/Analytics tools
  
• Streamline/Consolidate BI and Analytics Tools Portfolio to reduce the portfolio to a fewer number of tools, drive cost reductions, and bring cost efficiencies
  
• Evangelize Self-Service reporting and drive Change Management that goes with it
  
• Lead analytics platform modernization work such as functional and technical upgrades, migration to Cloud/SaaS platforms, roll out of new capabilities, and proof of concepts
  
• Develop, Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and SLAs to manage BI/Analytics platform lights-on Operations such as Incident Management (P1, Managed P2), and triaging Critical/High priority service requests. Manage adherence to SOPs and SLAs. Drive operational efficiencies and automations to improve SLAs
  
• Manage Service providers end-to-end - Execute Statements of Work, Manage Quality and Timeliness of Deliverables, enforce SLAs and participate in Monthly Operations Reviews and QBRs
  
• Manage Renewals with Vendors, manage License capacity/caps, revocation of un-used licenses, and compliance to License contracts
  
• Evaluate current state architecture & infrastructure, to recommend and implement changes to improve Scalability, Accessibility and User Experience of BI/Analytics tools/platforms
  
• Combine business needs, vendor roadmaps and technology trends to develop Product/Tools roadmaps and future state architectures
  
• Provide technical and architectural guidance to projects, teams and service providers, ensuring that new initiatives enable effective and scalable reporting and analysis capabilities
  
• Act as a thought leader on industry trends, emerging analytics capabilities and technologies and cloud platforms and potential use at Gilead
  
• Partner with other groups in the organization including Business Engagement, Information Management, Infrastructure and IT Security to ensure robust and scalable solutions
  
• Work with other solution and domain architects to establish architecture standards, policies and governance
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and Eight Years Experience OR Master's Degree and Six Years Experience OR
  High School Degree and Twelve Years Experience OR Associate's Degree and Ten Years Experience OR
  
• Lead and influence new initiatives in a matrixed, global organization
  
• Experience with Incident Management, Support Management, development of SOPs & SLAs and adherence to SLAs
  
• Proven track record of rationalizing BI & Analytical tools landscape, to continuously optimize and reduce cost of licenses and platform operation costs
  
• Proven track record of enabling Self-Service at scale
  
• Extensive experience with various reporting and analytic Tools including ThoughtSpot, Tableau, Spotfire, MicroStrategy, Power BI, Alteryx and PowerBI
  
• Familiarity with AWS Cloud platform and Infrastructure including server, storage, network and security considerations to enable Performant and Cost-effective architecture
  
• Familiarity with deploying BI/Analytical tools within IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models
  
• Operational knowledge and experience in a GxP environment
  
• Demonstrated proficiency and thorough knowledge of computer system validation (CSV) requirements defined by applicable authorities and/or industry groups
  
• Excellent technical, analytical, and project management skills
  
• Excellent verbal and written skills and with the ability to build strong relationships across the organization
  
• Previous experience in Life Sciences

Gilead and Kite Careers

The salary range for this position is: $146,200.00 - $189,200.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
