The Role:

Moderna is seeking a Senior Engineer I for a position in the Integrated Robotics (IR) team, at the Moderna manufacturing site in Norwood, MA. The Candidate will lead a team of engineers to support the transfer of automated systems from the High Throughput Development (HTD) team. They are also expected to have a strong understanding of the process steps and equipment. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for adding equipment to the computerized manufacturing management system (CMMS), designing preventative maintenance procedures and schedules, and perform training to the IR service team. It is expected that the Sr. Engineer I has a team mentality and respects the common work areas. They value the safety of the workspace and those that work around them to maintain a safe work environment. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to quickly master new processes and the drive to be part of a dynamic, fast paced, and highly motivated team. An effective applicant must be fearless in the successful completion of program goals.

Here's What Youll Do:

  • Lead engineers to support Technical Development system transfers into the High Throughput Operations group.

  • Create and manage training documents for new/existing equipment.

  • Create Preventative Maintenance procedures and schedules.

  • Responsible for creating asset inductions and responsibilities in the CMMS systems.

  • Work with in-house informatics and digital teams to integrate HTS data into internal LIMS systems

  • Support in the build, testing and release of HTD systems into operations

  • Prepare of document and presentations for the end users and service engineers

Heres What Youll Bring to the Table:

  • Engineering or biological sciences, biochemistry, biophysics, or biochemical engineering advanced degree (M.S. with no less than 8 years experience / Ph.D. with no less than 2 years experience)

  • At least 2 years experience in a management role.

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and collaborative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a highly dynamic environment

  • A limitless curiosity enabling quick mastery of new techniques and concepts

  • Ability to multi-task to meet timelines and relentless in pursuing successful outcomes

  • Exceptional written and oral communication

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience with mRNA and DNA production

  • Experience with Hamilton Star / Vantage programming a plus
