Lilly Diabetes at Eli Lilly and Company is committed to developing innovative, groundbreaking therapies for the treatment of type 2 diabetes (T2DM). We are looking for a highly motivated individual who will be working with the Lilly Diabetes, Incretin Team to work on novel diabetic medicines.

We are seeking an ambitious post-doctoral scientist with strong research and communication skills to contribute to a high visible research project. Your work will contribute to the mechanistic understanding by which novel T2DM and obesity agents improve insulin sensitivity and drive weight loss. In this role, you will:

  • Develop novel transgenic mouse models associated with metabolic disease.
  • Conduct in vivo pharmacological and metabolic studies focused on body weight, feeding behavior, energy expenditure and insulin sensitivity.
  • Conduct mechanistic studies focused on the central nervous system, white and brown adipose tissue.
  • Work closely with scientists across the preclinical and clinical diabetes team.
  • Collaborate with key opinion leaders in the metabolic disease field.
  • Present findings at international conferences and publish in high quality peer-reviewed journals.
Basic Qualifications
  • PhD in life science or biomedical sciences, or a related field
Additional Skills/Preferences
  • Self-directed and highly motivated individual who wants to learn new techniques while continually pursuing research and publication goals.
  • Excellent communicator (oral and written) with presentation experience, along with a strong publication record.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting.
  • Good problem-solving skills, capacity to conduct research independently, and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Experience conducting in vivo metabolic studies.
  • Experienced with preclinical models of obesity and T2DM.
  • Experience will cellular and molecular biology techniques.
  • Experienced with adipocyte cell lines and primary adipocyte systems.
  • Experienced with biochemical assays and ELISAs.
