What you will doIn this vital role you will be a part of the Department of Inflammation Research working as a Senior Associate Scientist to discover novel targets and develop innovative therapies in inflammatory diseases. You will perform groundbreaking research to investigate disease driving molecular and cellular mechanisms in inflammatory fibrotic diseases, such as scleroderma and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. You will collaborate with a dynamic research team from multiple Amgen functional areas in leading and/or supporting projects from discovery research to clinical development.
Position Responsibilities- Develop primary fibroblast cell culture and organoid cultures to support target discovery and therapeutic candidate characterization
- Propose discovery targets in inflammatory fibrotic diseases using human genetics, transcriptomics, in vitro or in vivo studies
- Publish and present at national/international conferences
What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:Masters degree and 3 years of scientific experience
OR
Bachelors degree and 5 years of scientific experience
Preferred Qualifications:- PhD with strong knowledge and research experience in the field of inflammation and fibrosis
- Technical expertise in working primary cell culture and organoids
- Demonstrated track record of independent critical thinking and scientific achievement in research, exemplified by a strong publication record and/or significant contributions to a therapeutic development program
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledgeable, highly motivated, creative, and collaborative

The annual base salary range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $103,045-125,031.
