Summary

This position is focused on programming activities to support data management and statistical analysis of epidemiologic studies. The position provides support to the Epidemiology team by preparing the data, conducting data analyses, and supporting statisticians and senior management in various epidemiology analytic activities. This position carries out programming and statistical analysis under the direction and supervision of statisticians including data coding, creation of algorithms, linkage of datasets, and use of statistical packages or platforms. This position also generates data standardization, visualization, and reporting to support analysis for epidemiologic studies and safety surveillance. This position carries out various functions (e.g., literature reviews, analysis to obtain background rates) for the development of safety documents (e.g., RMP), support SMT or other safety-related meetings, and study protocols. This position independently manages relationships with internal (CSPV, Regulatory, Clinical, Medical Affairs, HEOR, and other stakeholders to ensure expectations are clearly defined and met across participating teams) and external stakeholders. Must be able to prioritize and manage work across multiple projects and vendors. Provides strong vendor/internal communication to ensure successful and timely project delivery. Additionally, this position solves complex technical problems with experience and expertise. Finally, this position makes tactical decisions utilizing input from upper management that impact more than one project team or product at a time.

Responsibilities

- Data management and analysis: Plans and executes data analyses. Develops reports. Conducts literature searches and reviews, and prepares summaries and reports as needed. Conducts estimation of background rates. Reviews data management or statistical sections of study protocols, and/or safety documents as needed. Works under the supervision of statistician with cross-functional teams to formulate responses related to epidemiologic data analysis to health authority queries.
- Coordination of epidemiologic functions: Organization of meetings, preparation of minutes, setting up conference calls/Webex/Videoconferences as needed

o Responsible for the logistics of assigned global epidemiology working team activities

o Continuous improvement of process to be more efficient in data management and statistical analysis of epidemiologic studies

o This position should be able to balance conflicting priorities with limited resources and budget

o Monitoring of data management and statistical analysis of epidemiologic projects, under the supervision of the lead statistician to ensure their delivery on time

o Ensuring the documentation of epidemiology analytic activities and QC under the supervision of a statistician, that will support inspections, submissions, or deliverables to stakeholders
- Data management and statistical analysis Documentation: Leads the process and it is oversight by the lead statistician.
- Efficiency of Process, SOP: Leads the data management and statistical analysis of a project assigned by the lead statistician. Proactively ensures regulatory and Good Pharmacoepidemiology Practices

Education Qualifications (from an accredited college or university)

- Master's Degree in Epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics, bioinformatics, public health or related field preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics, bioinformatics, public health or related field required

Experience Qualifications

- 4 or More Years of post-Master’s degree preferred
- 1 or More Years of post-doctoral degree experience in a relevant pharmaceutical industry or functional area preferred
- Knowledge of database management (e.g., MS-Access) and statistical programming (e.g., SAS) preferred
