We are seeking a highly motivated Sr. Scientist within Formulation Development Group (FDG) to support key analytical development and characterization for candidate screening and product development in preclinical/clinical stage. Potential modalities for product development may include monoclonal antibodies, conjugated antibodies (e.g. antibody-drug conjugates), novel protein formats (e.g. mini-traps, antibodies, etc.)

A Typical Day in the Role May Look Like:

  • Develop and qualify fit-for-purpose analytical methods to support formulation development, process development, and stability testing for biologics programs and genetic medicines at preclinical/clinical stages.
  • Directly or indirectly work with program leads and lead subject matter experts in conducting research and developmental activities. Investigate and solve problems related to the analytical methods used to assess product quality and stability. Set goals, assign tasks, and provide performance management and development as needed.
  • Serve as an analytical team representative in cross functional team meetings and share knowledge and expertise within the company.
  • Author and revise sections of regulatory and technical documents, method SOPs, method performance reports, method transfer documents and contribute to pharmaceutical development reports for completeness and correctness.
  • Maintain understanding of scientific literature for techniques and instruments and apply appropriately to projects.
  • Identify and assess novel analytical methods and technologies.
  • Contribute to the acquisition of new instrumentation.
  • Participate in general lab and instrument maintenance.

This Role May Be for You If:

  • You have hands-on experience in proteins, antibodies, and bioconjugates in a biopharmaceutical setting and strong technical knowledge base with analytical method development and biophysical/biochemical characterization.
  • You have track record in developing, trouble-shooting and validating analytical methods used in biopharmaceutical development, including capillary and microchip electrophoresis (MCE/CE-SDS), chromatography method (HPLC/UPLC), mass spectrometry and biophysical techniques (DLS, CD, FTIR, DSC, AUC, Fluorescence, Raman spectroscopy, etc.).
  • You have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • You are hard-working in science with a motivation for making contributions in a team environment is necessary.
  • You are able to work independently, design and complete experiments, as well as interpret, document and communicate results.
  • You have strong understanding of ICH guidelines and familiar with analytical requirement for drug product development such as stability study, IV and SC administration.

In order to be considered qualified for this role, you must have a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Chemical or Biomedical Engineering (or related field) with a minimum of 1-4 years relevant experience in developing analytical methods for biological drug products and/or characterizing biological drug products. A BS/MS degree and 8+ years relevant experience may also be considered.

Salary Range (annually)

$88,500.00 - $144,500.00
