Combining scientific and/or technical knowledge with program management skills the Project & Portfolio Management (PPM) Data Steward – Associate Manager will provide a key role in supporting our discovery pipeline by providing scientific project management and information stewardship. This position is a key partner for Senior Scientific Leadership, Research Program Management, Discovery Scientists, and Operational Managers, assuming responsibility for the quality and completeness of the assigned PPM data assets and ensuring business users have easy access to high-quality data.
This role requires critical thinking around key scientific and operational data assets, team building, and communication, ensuring information accuracy for effective analysis and reporting. The incumbent will have a combination of information systems know-how and scientific acumen, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adeptly shift between diverse priorities. This role requires onsite work at our Tarrytown campus three days week.
As an Associate Manager, on the RPM team, a typical day might include the following:
Understanding key information and data required to drive discovery project operations decision making; supporting these questions with a robust data management process for consistent and timely data accuracy
Responsible for discovery project / operations data entry and data quality
Identifying, investigating, and proposing remediation actions for data quality issues
Serving as subject matter expert in discovery, data management processes and PPM systems and tools, providing guidance and training to others
Providing data and insights to identify opportunities for new process or process improvement solutions
Managing data in the PPM system, flagging and solving data inaccuracies
Supporting enterprise dashboarding, reporting, and metric generation efforts

You can effectively handle multiple projects and priorities with exceptional organizational and time management skills
To be considered for this role, you must have a BS/MS degree in a related field and a minimum of seven years relevant experience. Or you can have a PhD in a related field with five years of relevant experience. Past experience should include data management, data stewardship, and/or discovery operational management. You also should have broad scientific, technical, and industry drug development knowledge; well-practiced in project management techniques and processes; proficient in relevant software: Project management software, BI tools (e.g. TIBCO Spotfire, QlikView), Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. This role requires onsite work at our Tarrytown campus three days a week.
