OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE/ SCOPE
This opening is an opportunity to be part of an excellent team focused on accelerating cancer cell therapy development using the latest technologies. As a Senior Research Associate your major role will be to contribute to the creation of cellular treatment platforms using primary gdT cells and NK cells. You will be responsible for organizing and executing procedures to characterize and produce data for target selection and product design for various cell therapy discovery programs. Apart from drafting technical documents, such as SOPs and study reports you will also responsible to present study findings at team or department meetings, as well as to partners outside the company or at conferences.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Implement project assignments in conjunction with coworkers and departmental teams, taking ownership of the technical components of the task.
- Develop intricate experimental protocols and advance the project while internally analyzing, interpreting, and reporting findings to managers and project teams.
- Design experiments and unit operations independently, offer and implement solutions to technical problems, assist in creating project strategies, and effectively communicate complex information and judgments.
- Use your expertise in laboratory technology to mentor and educate junior personnel while collaborating with other departments and colleagues on projects.
- Work with departmental and peers to implement assignments.
- Independently conducts multiple complex experiments and/or tasks within a project scope, exercising judgement to evaluate a variety of technical factors, and obtain optimum solutions
- Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the given research techniques
- Understand the rationale behind the selection of a set of experiments
- Demomstrate fundamental understanding of science and technology outside of a particular subject
- Recognizes problems and considers the significance of irregularities
- Receives high-level instructions for all tasks; decides on own how to approach new assignments; mentors and may supervise subordinate staff
EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in Immunology, molecular biology, biomedical engineering or related pharmaceutical science; 6+ years relevant industry experience OR Master's degree in Immunology, molecular biology, biomedical engineering or related pharmaceutical science; 2+ years relevant industry experience.
- Previous experience working in lab setting.
- Proven proficiency in growing primary gdT or NK cells.
- Working knowledge of creating cell therapy products like CAR-NK, CAR-abT, CAR-gdT, or iPSC-derived cells, or working knowledge of carrying out cellular characterization assays like multicolor flow cytometry, multiplexed luminescent readouts, Incucyte, in vitro proliferation/apoptosis, killing assays, and cytokine detection.
- Experience with non-viral gene delivery systems using EP, cell transfection, virus transduction, and CRISPR gene editing is strongly preferred (Electroporation).
- Experience with CliniMACS Prodigy, CliniMACS plus, LOVO, or Sepax is a plus.
- Knowledge of the fundamentals and techniques of cell biology methodologies, cellular immunology, including cell culture, viral transduction (retroviral or lentiviral), and the creation of practical in vitro and preclinical techniques applicable to various immune cells or stem cells.

Base Salary Range: 79,8000.00 to 114,000.00. Employees may also be eligible for Short Term and Long-Term Incentive benefits. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off.
The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
