Associate Director, Operations Enterprise Systems Quality Labs

Purpose:

The AbbVie Quality Labs BTS team is dedicated to accelerating the Integrated Digital Lab of the future through establishing innovative solutions and harnessing the power of digital data to optimize lab efficiencies and quality.  The Associate Director, Quality Labs Delivery will be responsible for project delivery, operational excellence and technical solution ownership across the global labs technology solutions portfolio.  The position requires expertise in implementing complex GxP regulated systems and collaborates with senior leaders on both the Labs Business & BTS teams to deliver and support technical solutions for AbbVie Labs. 

Responsibilities:

• Provides oversight, coaching, professional development & technical thought leadership for team of project managers, analysts and technical leads. 
• Develops a deep understanding of projects to gain insights and ensures technical solutions are established with consideration of all business requirements addressing resiliency, data integrity, performance and optimized user experience for Lab Analysts.
• Establishes robust measurement strategies for project deployments to ensure project outcomes meet business expectations.
• Oversees project delivery from estimation through planning and implementation.  Considers all elements of project delivery such as organizational change management, system performance technical architecture, validation and data integrity & regulatory compliance. 
• Leads delivery team and collaborates with external solution vendors to minimize production issues, ensure continuity of business solutions, assure alignment with architecture & technology standards, and ability of product to scale to meet AbbVie requirements.
• Accountable for financial targets of the portfolio, including monthly targets, project targets and vendor resource costs
• Takes ownership of critical incidents, coordinates with resolution parties, and establishes effective communication between stakeholders for post-incident reviews.
• Ensure that systems, procedures, and methodologies are in place to support solution delivery and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree with 9 years of work experience including business analysis, project management, portfolio management, and strategic planning.
• Experience building and managing an organization of technologists, analysts, architects, and project managers including both employees and contractors.
• Self-Directed Leader, quickly grasping business needs and setting direction.
• Excellent analytical, judgment and consultative capabilities and communication skills.
• Excellent communications and influencing skills with strong ability to balance differing stakeholder interests through sound analysis and persuasion.
• Lab Systems / Lab Experience a plus (LIMS, ELN, CDS, Inventory, Asset Management).
