Accountant II

 

The Accountant II will be responsible for preparing month end journal entries and reconciliations including prepaids, cash, payroll, and accruals.  The Accountant II will also be responsible for transactional and month end closing procedures of Cash & Fixed Asset modules.

What are your job responsibilities?

 

·        Preparing month end journal entries, reconciliations for various general ledger accounts including prepaids, cash, payroll, and   accruals

·        Transactional and month end closing procedures of Cash and Fixed Asset modules

·        Contribute to the development and implementation of significant accounting processes and policies to maximizes the functionality of   the Oracle Fusion ERP system

·        Acting as a liaison to Omeros business units by providing support and gathering information relating to significant accounting   function

·        Assisting in the research and review of technical accounting relating to significant transactions

·        Assisting in the preparation of client prepared schedules to be provided to our external auditors

·        Assisting in the organization and documentation supporting our compliance procedures under SOX including performance and   documentation of key control activities

·        Providing audit support, assisting with applicable government reporting and participating in other projects

 

Education, Skills and Knowledge:

 

·        Requires a BS degree in Business with an Accounting concentration with a minimum of 2 years of experience specific to the position   responsibilities

·        Previous experience in a public accounting firm preferred

·        Experience with ERP accounting systems

·        Knowledge of GAAP and experience implementing and documenting internal controls under Sarbanes-Oxley and Committee of   Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO)

·        Ability to follow work direction given by others

·        Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships and credibility both internally and externally

·        Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

·        Demonstrated analytical skills and effective problem-solving capabilities as well as attention to detail

·        Dedicated to meeting deadlines

·        Willingness to learn

Physical Demands Required:

·        Position requires prolonged periods of sitting and constant use of a computer and keyboard.

Compensation and Benefits

 

Omeros is proud to offer a competitive total compensation package designed to support the lives of our employees and their families. The wage scale for the Accountant II is 75,000 to 87,500. Salaries will be determined based on knowledge, skills, education, and experience relevant to the role.  Employees are offered medical, dental, vision and life insurance and a 401k plan with a company match.  Employees accrue three weeks of vacation and 80 hours of sick time on an annual basis and receive twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar
