For over four decades,Amgenhas been at the forefront of providing theoncologyand hematology communities with novel therapies that have changed patients lives. We have pioneered six first-in-class oncology and hematology medicines including, Neupogen, Nplate, XGEVA, BLINCYTO and IMLYGIC and LUMAKRAS. We are building upon our strong oncology foundation and long-term commitment to patients by developing a whole new class of novel molecules and we need top talent to ensure these molecules become medicines and realize their potential for helping patients.

Today, Amgen is advancing the largest early Oncology pipeline in our history spanning several innovative technology platforms Bispecific T Cell Engagers (BiTEs), Antibodies Drug Conjugates and Small Molecules across many targets and more than a dozen tumor types. Many of these innovative modalities/technologies are not only firsts for Amgen, but also for the entire biotechnology field. The Executive Director, Global Marketing, BLINCYTO is a critical role in the Oncology Global Marketing organization and has a significant impact in providing commercial leadership. This Global Marketing Leader (GML) is responsible for maximizing the value of BLINCYTO by shaping global brand strategies, developing, and implementing global launch plan, and optimizing the lifecycle of the brand.

The position is complex and will require a commercial executive with strategic thinking and marketing capabilities, analytical skills and scientific literacy, cross-functional collaboration skills, ability to operate globally and locally, and influencing skills. The Executive Director, Global Marketing, BLINCYTO serves as primary Global Marketing interface with key countries that are part of the Brand Working Group. You will provide team leadership and ONE Commercial Voice throughout the product lifecycle and serve as a center of excellence for disseminating marketing best practices from Global-to-Local countries.

In this role you will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide commercial point of view and serve as a key contributor of the Product Team (PT)

  • Lead the Integrated Brand Team (IBT) and Brand Working Group (BWG)

  • Develop Global Brand Plan (GBP) and upcoming launch readiness plan

  • Deliver strategic recommendations for Oncology Therapeutic Area Governance meetings

  • Ensure that Amgen maximize the value of BLINCYTO

  • Drive key marketing related activities and effectively manage LRS forecast and brand budget

Key activities and accountabilities include the following:

  • Communicate commercial vision for the product

  • Forge strong relationships, cross-functional and country collaboration

  • Communicate country interests to create consolidated and integrated point of view ONE Commercial Voice

  • Ensure commercial inputs from IBT and BWG members are integrated into the GBP

  • Set and coordinate global pre-launch readiness activities

  • Co-development of portal/governance materials and presentations

  • Facilitate high quality and timely product-specific knowledge and best-practice sharing

  • Create and oversee execution of global market research strategy

  • Establish and maintain core positioning and branding and ensure this is executed globally

Basic Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree and 6 years of Global Marketing experience OR

  • Masters degree and 10 years of Global Marketing experience OR

  • Bachelors degree and 12 years of Global Marketing experience AND

  • 6 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior hematology experience is most preferred, but other oncology or solid tumors experience is also useful

  • At least eight years of experience in a series of commercial roles of increasing scope, scale, and complexity, with leading oncology biopharmaceutical companies

  • Experience developing and implementing innovative marketing and commercial strategies for pipeline products, successfully launching therapeutic products and repositioning products to maximize commercial value. Prior experience launching oncology products is highly desirable

  • Experience in commercial positions with global responsibilities is highly desirable. Possesses an understanding of broad, global market dynamics and cultural awareness and sensitivity to form relationships and work effectively with colleagues around the world

  • Has worked in diverse commercial roles supporting different disease states, on products in various stages of the lifecycle, with a diverse set of customers in challenging and competitive markets

  • Experience in a tactical, line marketing role, implementing marketing strategies in local markets, is a plus

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrix environment, managing global projects involving multiple functions and shared accountabilities

  • Understanding of global market access, pricing, and reimbursement issues

  • An MBA or advanced scientific degree (PhD, MS, MD, PharmD) is strongly preferred

The annual base salary range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $274,388 $318,568.
